Our Sundays walks plus our longer planned walks.

Most Sundays we have a walk in the local area after Mass, everyone is welcome, and it is a great opportunity to see the coast, Dartmoor and the surrounding areas! Numbers are limited only by the amount of transport we have on hand but luckily most day we have more than enough but are always looking for more.
More information and some hints and tips for what to bring:
To ensure we can take advantage of the time and light we are aiming to depart by 1:30pm (or 2pm at the very latest, in cases of birthdays or food).
There is usually no time for people to go and grab stuff they need, so please make sure you bring it with you (either wearing it or as some people do, bring a change with them and change before the walk starts.)
As for what you should be wearing, remember the two W's: Winds and Water.
The two things that make you cold are if you wet and/or if there is a wind chill. Therefore it is important to have appropriate clothing that is water proof (if it is waterproof then it is wind proof). For warmth, layers are best as you get to adjust what you wear as you go.
It also important to have appropriate footwear, waterproof ideally, (if not, bring some spare shoes and socks to change back into after the walk, as you might have wet feet), it is important that shoes have some sort of tread that will give you grip.
If you have them, walking shoes or hiking boots are the best, particularly if they are mid profile or even better, high.
If you are going to buy a new pair, you can’t beat gortex for waterproofness, but unless you get a good deal they will cost more than other waterproof boots.
For cheapness, look for boots in Aldi (not Goretex) or Sports Direct, but always check what's on offer at Millets and Go Outdoors.
